London Calling...
This Thursday saw me down in London for the launch of my first London solo show , ‘Great Moments in Popular Music’. The exhibition features 27 brand new paintings, and I have to say this is some of my best work.
As well as the originals, the show has a few limited editions including a Paul Smith Tote bag with a screen print of one of my designs on it called ‘Schoolboy crush’. The gent that Paul is he came to the launch to see the exhibition and to check the bag to make sure it was up to muster.
I gave him a little guided tour of the show and when I pointed out my tribute to Buddy Holly he mentioned that Buddy was the cause of a cycle accident that he had as a teenager, due to him wearing Buddy Holly glasses. Though every cloud has a silver lining as this lead him on to start working in fashion.
As well as Paul a few other London types turned up to wish me luck and have a look at the show. I left at the end very happy and very drunk.
